Exploring Creative Projects by Depositphotos
We love to reflect on inspiration and motivation by saying that one can draw it from anything: nature, people, routine, weather. But in fact, these things are too abstract to provide us with useful insights on particular projects. They just give a general will to wake up in the morning and do your job.
To get inspiration you can put into practice, hunt for existing projects in the same or related fields. By doing this, you will, firstly, see the methodology and make up your own thoughts on implementing the project. Secondly, you will broaden your outlook and stay up to date with the latest projects your favourite brand has created.
In this vein, we’d like to share a collection of past and forthcoming creative projects by Depositphotos with an aim to inspire and motivate you for greater achievements.
7+1 Creative Projects by Depositphotos
Visual Trends 2017
In 2017, photography trends were already dying as quickly as evolving. Automatically documenting every single step we take, we threw visuals to the newsfeed, where they lived just for one day or even a couple of hours until replaced by new ones.
At that time, everyone was really curious about how will technology and social media change photography? What’s in demand? Depositphotos could not stand aside. Having analyzed search algorithms, collaborated with top designers and photographers in the industry and answered a range of crucial questions for every creative, the annual project on the trends that define the visual culture for the next 12 months appeared.
We Turned Boring Stock Photos to Cool TV Posters
Who could ever think that one day ‘boring’ stock photos can become original TV posters? To the beginning of the new season of world’s favourite TV shows, Depositphotos team has presented posters for “The Stranger Things”, “Mr. Robot”, “Game of Thrones”, “The Walking Dead”, “American Horror Story” and “Narcos”.
Alternative Movies Posters For Oscar Nominated Films
TV posters created from stock photos appeared to be so relevant, that Depositphotos team decided to take on reimagining posters for Oscar-nominated movies.
As the Academy Awards is one of the most awaited cultural events in the world, we got up the courage to make some predictions, share them with the most talented Depositphotos illustrators, who drew their own interpretations of the movies posters for “Arrival”, “La La Land”, “Rogue One” and “Deadpool”.
Visual Trends 2018
Whether you’re a photographer, a designer, a copywriter or a business owner, visual trends will inevitably guide your work direction. To find out what was waiting for us in 2018, as
usually, Depositphotos analyzed search algorithms and collaborated with top professionals in the field.
In tuned out, that astrophotography was replaced by travel and drone photography, emotions and movement by deadpan, and still life images by motion graphics.
Reimagining Record Covers
Reimagining record covers is another creative experiment by Depositphotos, as even the legendary things need to be freshened up sometimes. 19 artists were brought together to reimagine 19 all-time renowned record covers. From The Beatles to Sigur Ros, from Aladdin Sane to Kid A – check out the project to become inspired to greater creativity.
Art Photographers Vs. Stock Cliches
Stock photography is a huge industry and it comes as no surprise that some of the visuals indeed require a little more of a creative approach.
So, Depositphotos asked art photographers to re-invent the most common stock cliches: a woman with salad, a happy family, a business meeting, a party, a lady shopping and the concept of a sprout. To play a fair game, they were limited by time frames – 1 day, up to 6 models and a couple of locations to produce their stories. The results are unexpected.
Visual Trends 2019
As you may have already realized, Visual Trends is an annual Depositphotos project. It serves a manual for all the creatives and predicts what’s ‘in’ this year.
It has never been so difficult to envision the world tomorrow as in 2019. We spoke to the best photographers, designers, and content curators and made a couple of bold claims:
- a global aesthetic is fueled by social media and influencers
- marketers are getting personal with content curation
- artists and designers are looking for ways to glorify the past while also experimenting with innovative approaches to their art.
Personalization, creative provocation, philosophical minimalism, multiple layers of interaction and many other trends are already on track, not to mention the nostalgic flashbacks, which covered not only millennials but also other generations.
Wait for it! Depositphotos new project is coming up soon
