Neon as a color is contemporary and bold, although interestingly, its history can be traced back to the 17th century when it was accidentally discovered by a French astronomer Jean Picard.

The rare chemical element – neon – was discovered by William Ramsey and M. W. Travers in 1898 in London.

Meanwhile, the use of it as we know today was coined by Georges Claude. In 1902, he created the first neon lamp, which was displayed to the public only eight years later.
