Saint Veronica was a godly woman from Jerusalem who followed Jesus on his way to Golgotha. She was the one who gave him  the veil to wipe his forehead. Jesus took the veil and after using it gave it back to her. The image of his face miraculously appeared on the veil after that.
This is the history of St. Veronica, who is considered to be the patroness of photographers. Thanks to her nowadays July, 12 is the Photographer’s Day. There also is the World Photography Day, celebrated on August, 19.
