“The varied landscape afforded by the Andaman Islands was soon passed, however, and the Rangoon rapidly approached the Straits of Malacca, which gave access to the China seas. During the afternoon of Wednesday, 30th October, the Rangoon entered the Strait of Malacca, which separates the peninsula of that name from Sumatra.” Not only will we cross the Straits, but we will also visit some cantons of Malaysia.

Around the World in Eighty Days: Calcutta

The nickname for Calcutta (also known as Kolkata) is “City of Joy.” It used to be the capital of India, and is therefore known for its rich cultural heritage and a strong sense of community. The “City of Furious, Creative Energy” welcomed Phileas Fogg on October 25th; within our virtual tour we can visit it over and over again.
